ReceiptSnap Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the ReceiptSnap mobile application ("the app"), published by RocketshipHQ ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these terms.

1. What the app does

ReceiptSnap lets you photograph receipts, extract their details using on-device text recognition, organize them into expense reports, and send those reports by email. Data is stored locally by default. You may optionally create a recovery account and back it up to the cloud; see the Privacy Policy for details.

2. Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the expense data you record and submit. Automatic text recognition can make mistakes — review extracted amounts, dates, and merchants before relying on them.
• You may only send expense reports to recipients who expect to receive them from you. Do not use the email feature to send unsolicited messages.
• You are responsible for reviewing Cloud Backup status and keeping a separate export of data you cannot afford to lose. Local-only data is removed when you uninstall the app or lose the device. Only a completed Cloud Backup can be restored through a verified recovery account.

3. Not financial or tax advice

The app is a record-keeping tool. Currency conversions shown in the app are estimates and may not reflect current exchange rates. Totals, conversions, and categorizations are provided for convenience and do not constitute financial, accounting, or tax advice. Verify figures before using them in official filings or reimbursement claims.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the app for unlawful purposes, attempt to abuse or overload our email-sending service, reverse the app's security measures, or use the service to transmit malicious, deceptive, or infringing content.

5. Availability

The core app works offline. Cloud Backup, account recovery, and email sending depend on third-party services (including Google Firebase and Resend) and may be unavailable from time to time. We may modify or discontinue features without notice.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its branding are owned by RocketshipHQ. You retain all rights to the receipts and data you create with the app.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of extracted data, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RocketshipHQ is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. Uninstalling removes local information but does not delete an existing recovery account or cloud backup. Use the in-app account-deletion control to remove both. We may suspend access to network services for abuse.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update this page and its effective date; continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
